[Our News]Rob Parsons’s Marathon achievement

Rob Parsons's Marathon achievementWe are very proud of Rob Parsons, our intrepid Director, for completing the 2018 London Marathon in sweltering heat.

Not only did Rob complete the 26.219 miles in a very respectable time, slightly behind Sir Mo, but he also managed to raise a staggering amount for Great Ormond Street Hospital, far exceeding his target.

Many thanks to all the Phidex team who personally contributed £350, which was then matched by the company; meaning £700 donated to an amazing cause.

Well done Rob!  Enjoy a little rest this week.

[Our News]Phidex support grassroot football

Phidex is delighted to announce its 2 year sponsorship agreement with Bushey and Oxhey Football Club’s under 9’s Vipers team.

Bushey and Oxhey Football Club ( http://www.busheyandoxheyfc.co.uk/cms ) are a FA Charter Standard Club and member of the West Herts League with a strong set of values and principles and a philosophy focused on long term player development and inclusion. The club is a non-profit making organisation dedicated to promoting and enhancing the culture of youth football and sports education in the local community.

With many of the Phidex team being local to the Bushey and Oxhey area and most having young families, we were delighted to be able to support youth football in our community by sponsoring the Vipers.

Phidex director, Richard Carnall has been involved with the club since his son was in the club’s U6 soccer school and has seen first-hand the benefits Bushey & Oxhey FC has on the boys at this influential time in their childhood.  “Being a part of Bushey and Oxhey FC develops the boys’ football abilities; more importantly they have fun, learning the values of being a part of a team and offers parents an opportunity to spend valuable time together following a common interest”.

Football in the younger age groups is all about youth development, giving everyone an opportunity to grow as part of a team no matter what their abilities are at their age.  Performance and development measures are not about final scores and league positions, and for these defining reasons, no results or performance statistics are published.

Phidex wish The Vipers a successful 2016/17 season and look forward to following their progress and passing on news of these exciting times!

[Industry News]Project Nexus: Delayed till Spring 2017

Project Nexus is the upgrade to UK Link, Xoserve’s settlement and SPA system, including changes to current data file structures which will facilitate a more granular charging and reconciliation process and bring the existing, aged system up to date.

In planning since 2008, an initial implementation date of October 2015 was delayed by a year due to Xoserve and other Market participants not having completed the required development and testing of their upgraded systems.  In 2016 Ofgem, supported by PwC, took over formal sponsorship of the project and are steering the preparation of all participants.

However as of July 2016 many areas of the project still remain uncertain which forced a further delay.  A revised implementation date between February and April 2017 has been targeted, however it is widely anticipated to be after Q1 of 2017.  Market trials are underway with varied success and certain aspects (e.g. processing of retrospective updates and transition between IGT’s and Xoserve for CSEPs) have yet to be finalised.

Implementation of Nexus affects most of a gas shipper’s business teams and adequate preparation for business critical data and process management is essential.
